Korea Labor Welfare Corporation(KLWC) serves itself as "Hope & Reliance to Working People", which you can say is why it survives. It has operated lots of welfare programs including Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance(IACI), fully aware of its own mission in their social security.
KLWC with its nationwide 46 branches, covering IACI as one of its most important programs committed by the government, has exclusively contributed to securing work-related injured workers their prompt medical treatments and stable livelihood to facilitate their return-to-work by providing them and their employers with comprehensive benefit services, such as medical cares, compensations and rehabilitation, and collecting their contributions.
Its recent concerns are to put to practice the system of offering timely services to its customers(work-related injured workers, employers, medical care providers, etc.). Actually, they can use its Internet services(Total Service) to establish their insurance with it, pay contributions, claim compensation benefits and submit their medical bills. For employers' convenience, specially ones with less than 5 employees, it has introduced a system in which they can report and pay their contributions on the Internet, not via their payroll reports. On top of that, it plans to reform the way of claiming the benefits: outgrowing its existing system into a new "reporting" one where all they have to do is give a ring to claim their benefits. Its another plan is to intensify the Field-Care Service System, in which they could enjoy a quality medical care service.
This English Manual concerns foreign workers and employers in Korea, and other related overseas institutions which have interests in Korean IACI programs. I hope the manual, such as it is, will be at their understandings of the programs.
President Bang, Yong Seok
